From Fiesta Champion to MINI JCW: Jenson O’Neill-Going Joins JamSport for MINI CHALLENGE JCW Debut
We’re excited to announce that Jenson O’Neill-Going will be joining JamSport Racing for the final two rounds of the MINI CHALLENGE in his New Hope Rentals-backed JCW!
Motorsport has been part of Jenson’s life from the very beginning. Growing up around the Jamsport team, he was immersed in the paddock from a young age and began working closely with BTCC drivers and ARDS A coaches at just seven years old, when his dad, Jamie Going, bought him his first race car. From then on, Jenson could regularly be found turning laps at Blyton Park, gaining valuable seat time and experience.
When he turned 14, Jenson was finally able to compete and wasted no time making his debut in the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship. Just two weeks after his birthday, he entered the final two rounds of the 2023 season in his Mk6 Fiesta, a car he had been practicing in for years. His first weekend didn’t go to plan to say the least, a dramatic accident saw his car written off in his very first race. But Jenson showed incredible resilience, bouncing back for the season finale at Brands Hatch where he secured his first podium finish.
In 2024, Jenson returned to the championship with determination and delivered an outstanding season. He not only became Fiesta Junior Champion, but also claimed Rookie Champion and Mk6 Champion, an incredible achievement in just his first full season of motorsport.
After a few months out of the seat, Jenson is now hungrier than ever and ready for the next stage in his career as he makes the exciting step into the MINI CHALLENGE JCW Championship with JamSport Racing.
Jenson O’Neill-Going is keen to get started and said "I’m really excited to be stepping up into the MINI CHALLENGE JCW Championship with JamSport Racing. To make my debut in a New Hope Rentals-backed car is really special, and I can’t thank them enough for their support. Having grown up around JamSport and racing being such a big part of my family, this opportunity means a lot to me. After winning the Fiesta Junior Championship last season, I’m ready to get back on track, learn as much as possible, and make the most of this next step. A big thank you to JamSport and my family for their ongoing support.”
"Seeing Jenson progress into the MINI CHALLENGE JCW Championship is a very proud moment for me. He has been around JamSport since the very beginning, growing up in the paddock and learning from everything going on around him. To now see him driving one of our JCWs is a special moment for all of us. It will be a steep learning curve, but I know he’ll give it everything, and I’m excited to see what he can do."
