Driver Announcement - Archie Johnson

We are excited to confirm that Archie Johnson will make a return to our team this season, competing in the highly competitive BRSCC Fiesta ST240 Championship.

Archie is still very new to the motorsport world and started his career only last year! In 2023, he took on the Fiesta ST240 championship, after opting to step up to the senior category despite still being eligible for the Fiesta Junior championship. We firmly believe this was the correct decision for Archie, allowing him to dedicate a year to familiarizing himself with the car he would be racing for the next few years. Despite being a rookie, he quickly adapted, gaining valuable experience competing against much more experienced drivers and clinching multiple podium finishes in his class.

Throughout the 2023 season, Archie balanced his racing commitments with school life. His hard work paid off when he was accepted into the Motorsport UK Enhanced Diploma in Sporting Excellence program for the next two years.

Being part of Archie's racing journey is an honor for us, witnessing his growth not only as a racing driver but also on a personal level. He actively contributed to our scholarship team, playing a key role in the final selection process. We strongly encourage our drivers to engage in the scholarship program, as there's no better judge of new talent than someone already immersed in the team.

We’ve already begun testing and are working our way through the tracks on the calendar to prepare for the season ahead. Archie also works very closely with our media team, Jamsport Media to improve his media skills and enhance his online image.

Archie is pleased to continue working with the team and said “I am looking forward to working with Jamsport Racing to build on the progress made last season. I would like to thank the team and my sponsors for their continued support and faith in my ability. I can’t wait for the season to start to gain more experience and, hopefully, achieve more podium finishes."

Team principal, Jamie Going, added, “It’s such a joy to work with Archie; he’s always so positive and has shown such commitment to the sport. He’s an all-rounder; he loves coming to the workshop to use the sims, he's not afraid to get his hands dirty working on his car, he works closely with our media team and  we’re always going testing.”

“It’s drivers like Archie that make my job so enjoyable! He’s put so much effort into this season; I can’t wait to go racing to see what he achieves.”
