Driver Announcement - Archie Johnson

We are pleased to announce another one of our 2023 scholarship entrants, Archie Johnson has joined our team for this season! Although Archie is one of our scholarship participants, he is old enough to compete as either a junior or a senior, however after a test drive in both cars the decision was made for Archie to join the BRSCC Fiesta ST240 Championship this season!

Archie's first taste of motorsport was indoor karting when he was 12 years old. Since then, he has competed in various indoor and outdoor championships up and down the country gaining podium finishes. To achieve what he has in only 4 years to now compete in the Airtec Motorsport Fiesta ST240 Championship is outstanding.

We definitely believe this is the correct decision for Archie as although he is a novice to car racing we are confident in Archies ability that he is ready to go racing with the big boys. A lot of work has been going on with Archie behind the scenes to prepare him for this years challenge, we can’t wait to see how much he progresses throughout the season.

We’ve already begun testing and are working our way through the tracks on the calendar to prepare Archie as much as possible. He will also be working with Jamsport media to improve his skills and enhance his profile.

Archie is pleased to be joining the team and said “I am so excited to race for Jamsport racing in the upcoming 2023 season in the Airtec Motorsport Fiesta ST240 Championship. I would like to thank Jamsport Racing and my sponsors for this amazing opportunity. I can’t wait to learn and improve and to gain as much experience over the season to enable me to secure some great results. I am looking forward to the season ahead and can’t wait to get racing and hopefully hit the ground running."

Team Principal Jamie Going added “I first met Archie nearly a year ago for his first development day and since then he has shown so much commitment to the sport. Archie is very determined to constantly make improvements which was what made us come to the decision that seniors is the correct route to help fast track his racing. Archie is incredibly focused and I believe that the ST240 is the right way for him to go. His regular sim sessions, test days and ongoing work with Jamsport Media is definitely showing in his performance and I’m really looking forward to going racing with him.”
