SPORT CHAMPION ARCHIE JOHNSON MAKES JCW SWITCH
Jamsport is proud to confirm that reigning JCW Sport Champion Archie Johnson will step up into the headline JCW category of the MINI CHALLENGE for the 2026 season.
Archie continues his journey with the same Jamsport team that guided him to the JCW Sport title in 2025, becoming the first driver announced as part of our 2026 campaign.
Following revised regulations for the new season, Archie will compete in a JCW machine fitted with the new F66 bodykit, which made its debut on a development car last year. The move marks an exciting new chapter for both Archie and the team as we look to build on the momentum of a championship-winning campaign.
Last year’s title fight proved one of the most intense of the campaign, with Archie locked in a season-long battle with team-mate Henry Howarth that went down to the final race at Brands Hatch. Across 19 races, Archie secured eight victories, the highest tally in the class — and an impressive 13 fastest laps on his way to clinching the crown.
Team Principal Jamie commented: “I am really looking forward to working with Archie once again this season. We’ve been a part of his journey since the beginning and can’t wait for him to take the next step. We’re heading into the season as reigning JCW Sport Champions and I can’t wait to see what he can do.”
The step up into the JCW category represents a fresh challenge, but one that both Archie and the team are fully prepared to embrace as we target success at the front of the field in 2026.
“I’m really pleased to be making the move up into the JCW class of the MINI CHALLENGE, Last season was hugely successful for both me and the team, and I was able to learn a huge amount in the Sport class after making the step up from Fiestas.Winning the title after such a big battle with Henry was fantastic, and now I’m looking to try and take the momentum from last season into 2026 and push towards the front.I know it’ll be a challenge but it’s one that I feel ready for, and my focus is on trying to battle for some silverware.” Archie added.
Everyone at Jamsport is excited to continue working with Archie as we aim to add further silverware to the team’s record in the MINI CHALLENGE.
